Hi, my name is Katelyn.
I am so happy to have you here! I believe there is so much healing that can happen in our mental health when we have meaningful connection and a safe space to be heard, understood, and supported. I recently graduated from Oral Roberts University with my Master’s degree in Professional Counseling. I am currently a Candidate under supervision as I work toward completing my hours to become a fully Licensed Professional Counselor.
One area that holds a special place in my heart is Infant Mental Health. I believe the earliest relationships and experiences can have such a meaningful impact on a child’s development. I enjoy working alongside caregivers to better understand their child’s needs, strengthen their connection, and build secure and healthy relationships. My work is grounded in attachment-based interventions, empathy, and creating a space where children and families feel safe, supported, and understood. I like to incorporate play and art therapy techniques to help children express themselves and process their experiences in ways that feel natural and comfortable for them.
I have a passion for children with special needs and the families who walk alongside them. I love getting to know each child for who they are, celebrating their strengths, and finding creative ways to help them communicate and feel understood. I value supporting caregivers as they navigate the joys and challenges that can come with raising a child with unique needs. My goal is to come alongside the whole family with compassion, encouragement, and a desire to help them feel connected and supported. I also enjoy working with adolescents and adults while incorporating solution-based techniques.
When I’m not in the counseling room, you can probably find me spending time with my family and friends, serving in my church community, cuddled up in a blanket with my book of the week, hand knitting a blanket or somewhere outdoors with friends. I love a good cup of coffee, a beautiful sunrise or sunset, and pretty much any excuse for a road trip!
